YOU CAN DO THIS
I know a lot of folks like to know what other entrepreneurs are doing to reach their business goals.
Here’s something that I hope helps you as you’re out there growing your business.
This is a sneak peak into what I’m doing with the Invisible Webinar for my own business growth… (from the book, DotCom Secrets)
The crux of the Invisible Webinar is using a ridiculously low entry cost toward some kind of teaching or membership…
AFTER a customer receives the information and loves it, their credit card gets charged for the value. If they didn’t like it, they let you know and they don’t get billed.
I see the Invisible Webinar as an offshoot of the “Puppy Dog Close.”
THE PUPPY DOG CLOSE
The Puppy Dog Close is an old-school sales method: Imagine if a parent visited a local pet shop… The sales person says, “You don’t even have to pay right now… take her home for a couple of days… see how she gets along with the family.”
This almost guarantees a sale! How could a parent return the animal back to the pet shop after the kids fall in love with that pile of skin, fur, and cuteness?
Car dealerships use this method to reach their sales goals… The idea is that customer takes home a car for a weekend… Next, the neighbors come over to gawk, friends at work are celebrating with you, and it’s hard to take the car back and say, “No thanks.”
The Invisible Webinar is like that Puppy Dog Close… it’s a trial… a ‘try before you buy’… Except instead of friends and family clamoring over your new puppy, your brain gets excited for the new knowledge (and new business connections, if it’s a membership).
This method is designed to lower the perceived risk for the customer AND it’s hard to take something back when you genuinely received value. For example, a person might feel guilty to NOT make a payment if they were able to achieve real business growth from the information that was already delivered.

So here's my version of the Invisi-nar
1.) The big value I offer (the Puppy Dog) is a 5-day Sneak Peak into a 90-day Challenge: 5 days for $5.
The full price is several hundred dollars, so this sneak peak is a great value. The deal is if they like the material, they do nothing and they’ll get billed on day 7. If they don’t like it, they send me an email and cancel.
2.) I’m using a simple funnel designed by Julie Christine Stoian and Cathy Olson of Funnel Gorgeous.
3.) The landing page leads to a free demo / mini webinar (some folks sign up directly to the free demo, others may come thru a free assessment + PDF opt-in).
4.) Since it’s an Invisi-nar, it does NOT have a stack at the end of the presentation, just a Magic Bullet close (there’s almost zero risk compared to high perceived value so it doesn’t take a long webinar or a big close at the end of the presentation).
So, great… they paid a mere $5 to enter into a smorgasbord of value and now they’re in the 5-day Jumpstart.
5.) Once inside, they’ll experience a “sideways webinar” (A side-inar?). In other words, what used to be my full webinar is broken up into five videos — one video for each day of the Challenge. Each video leads to a task that should be able to be completed within just 15 minutes.
And that’s it… if they like the value they received, they simply do nothing, their credit card gets charged, and they continue on to complete the full, 90-day Challenge.
Now maybe you’re thinking this would be difficult to set up. But it’s not… Here are the five steps of my simple marketing funnel:
A SNAPSHOT OF THE FUNNEL:
- An optin page for my demo / mini webinar
- A countdown page (currently this is a, “We’ll Notify You” page),
- A replay/watch page,
- An order form (sent there from the demo)
- And a Congratulations / Next Steps Page
This is all kept pretty simple…
Oh, and in addition… for those who watched the first short demo but didn’t pay the five bucks… I’ll be adding an email series that goes over similar how-to material that I go over in the side-ways webinar. These will have calls to action to the larger, 90-day program.
For those that don’t buy from there, I’ll downsell to the next $5 5-day Jumpstart Challenge.
So that’s the online version of the Puppy Dog Close and how I’m using the Invisible Webinar.
Hope this helps, fellow entrepreneur!
Until next time…
