Don’t be alarmed… It’s just the 2017 Honda Odyssey in Charcoal Gray, all over again.
I’m talking about the fact that you think everyone else is doing what you’re doing, seen your type of offer before, or is no longer interested in receiving your PDF, video, live demo, or whatever simply because they’re tired of seeing so many PDFs, videos, or demonstrations.
Have no fear… it’s just 2017 Honda Odyssey In Charcoal Gray Syndrome. It’s like when you end up buying a vehicle (let’s say, oh, I dunno, a 2017 Honda Odyssey in charcoal gray), and you end up noticing how EVERY OTHER CAR ON THE ROAD is a 2017 Honda Odyssey in charcoal gray!!! You know what I’m talking about. And you know that all of these vehicles were on the road before you got yours, you just had no reason to notice them.
Same thing happens in business… except in business we tend to PANIC because we REALLY, REALLY want (or NEED) this to work for us. So, when we’re creating our business offerings, it’s common to think that whatever we’re working with has past its prime, it’s already been done. Nobody wants this anymore.
Keep this in mind… when you go to the store because you want MILK, what do you see? There are SO MANY options right? And those options aren’t spread out all over the store, they’re ALL RIGHT NEXT TO ONE ANOTHER.
Here’s a real-life example. Renee recently did a demonstration on how to use Trello to create workflows to balance Life & Business. Now, everyone and their child has a demo on Trello, right? (ok, not everyone… YouTube says there’re only 109,000 someones with videos about Trello). And yet, using word of mouth posting, running ZERO ads, she had something like = 27 optins, the majority tuned in live, and she got one paying client (and she’s really excited about this one, but that’s another story). All this on her first try.
So whatever you’re planning, do your research, offer the best value you can, get it in front of people, and do it consistently, and you should be okay.
